From Pitch to Press – The Importance of PR Coverage
In PR, visibility is everything. Whether you’re launching a new product, championing a cause, or strengthening your brand’s reputation, securing media coverage is one of the most powerful ways to cut through the noise and reach your audience. But generating the right kind of press isn’t just about getting your name in print – it’s about shaping a narrative that aligns with your goals, whether on a national stage or within local communities.
At Faust PR, we understand just how important an effective PR strategy can be. We also value the end goal and identity of each of our clients, which is why we pinpoint the exact type of coverage that we need to be generating and tailor our approach accordingly.
With such a variety of clients and stories, we thought we’d round up a few of our favourite pieces of coverage from the last year, to showcase just how important the perfect PR pitch can be in securing valuable coverage.
The Times
Getting ahead of the announcement that Chelmsford, Essex, won the top spot for the East of England in The Times’ ‘Best Places to Live’ guide, we pitched one of our client’s case studies as an exclusive to sit within the guide. Including a detailed overview on The Arbour at L&Q’s Beaulieu development, as well as images and plenty of quotes, this coverage was a fantastic national piece which reached hopeful house hunters across the country.
LBC
Opinion pieces on the property industry are one of our favourite types of copy to write. Keeping up to date with what’s going in within the world of property is so important and getting to shed some light on the data our clients have discovered and offer an insightful commentary can often lead to great coverage.
In a recent article on LBC, our client, Jade Turnstill from Share to Buy, highlighted significant new data from Share to Buy’s recent customer survey - revealing that 88% of prospective homebuyers are prioritising saving for a home deposit over contributing to their pensions. Advocating for government and industry intervention, securing this piece of coverage positioned Share to Buy as an industry expert in a well-respected and extremely relevant news outlet.
Daily Mail
Stepping outside of the property industry and into the realms of luxury lifestyle, we were thrilled to secure a bit of a different piece of coverage for our wellness client, KLAFS. As part of a seasonal Valentine’s Day piece about boosting libido, the article featured an expert comment from the KLAFS director Gilles Darmon on the numerous health benefits of sauna bathing. This coverage put our client in front of a national consumer audience, highlighting how beneficial saunas can be.
Lancashire Telegraph
Local coverage is crucial for many of our clients, with community engagement at the heart of their projects. Most recently, we managed a World Book Day donation from L&Q’s Whalley Manor in the Ribble Valley, to the village’s local primary school. With our photographer capturing some shots of the donation, and the children dressed up in their costumes, we generated some brilliant local coverage in the likes of the Lancashire Telegraph and many other local publications.
The Negotiator
Whilst consumer coverage is often the top priority for our clients, trade coverage also ranks highly with a vast majority. Reaching industry audiences to generate business goes without saying, so data that we can share with relevant publications often performs well. One of our clients, Your Home by Heylo, had a particularly positive year with figures highlighting their growth in partnerships with estate agents over the previous year. Their product relies on partnering with estate agents to introduce their home buying model to their customers, so we shared their performance figures with the estate agent outlet, The Negotiator, and generated a standalone piece of coverage on their success. We heard first-hand how this coverage generated new leads and sales for Your Home, which was just the outcome we hoped for!
